Abstract

This article aims to explore the concept of a socio-organizational mechanism of regulation in relation to project activities, to conceptualize this category, and to develop the author’s interpretation of its content. The relevance of this study arises from the lack of research in the existing literature concerning the conceptualization of socio-organizational mechanisms for regulating project activities. In modern sociology, this concept remains insufficiently developed. Using systemic and structural-functional approaches, we identified the goals, components, and functions of the socio-organizational mechanism and analyzed the institutional environment of project activities. Also, we conducted a comprehensive review of scientific literature to examine the content of the concept of a socio-organizational mechanism. The main result of the study include the conceptualization of this category and the formulation of the author's interpretation. We treat socio-organizational mechanism for regulating project activities as an integrated set of methods, tools, and practices designed to organize social interactions and manage social processes and relationships within a specific social organization to achieve project goals. We concluded that the effectiveness of this mechanism relies on enhancing feedback between various levels of management, increasing participant involvement in decision-making processes, and consistently monitoring both intermediate and final results. The theoretical significance of the study lies in the conceptualization of the term “socio-organizational mechanism” in the regulation of project activities. The study materials may be of interest to scientists studying the regulation of project activities. The practical significance of the study is justified by the possibility of using the research materials in the preparation in teaching courses such as Sociology of Management. The practical significance of the research is justified by the possibility of using the research materials in the preparation of lecture courses in the discipline "Sociology of Management".
